My clinic is petitioning the AMA to include SPACE in the description of the 90837. We believe that because it is treatment for the client through the parents it should be given the same weight as a 90837 and same reimbursement from insurance. Billing as a 90846 pays less an is not technically correct because it is not family therapy, it is actual treatment for the child. The AMA has agreed to hear us, but we need more backing. They want to know how far reaching SPACE in the country and how other providers are using it. If you are willing to write a letter to be included in our petition or just provide me with some information on where you are and how you use SPACE as a provider that would be great.
