Hello,
Looking for a SPACE provider. Family is in VA. Can do self-pay.
My client has an adult child (in her 30s) who has chronic medical health issues and mental health problems.
My client and his wife struggle tremendously with figuring out and agreeing where to set boundaries, what’s accommodation/ what’s supportive, and what’s actually necessary given her conditions.
There are many practical and emotional implications for the family and they are needing someone to help provide guidance on where to set limits (financially and with their time helping her at her place) and with tolerating their anxiety and uncertainty about how she will cope with these limits.
Any leads would be much appreciated.

I did the Space training on 16th and 17th June 25, loved it and am already adding SPACE to my non-violent resistance work with clients. Can anyone tell me:
1/How can I get listed on https://www.spacetreatment.net/space-providers
2/How I can get a certificate of attendance
3/ if there is a space logo I can add to my website
I have emailed SPACE and not had a reply.
many thanks.
Hi I was on the same training and received a certificate of attendance. I am not sure how to register and a logo link would be a great addition to the website.

The mom has been in therapy with me for many years and parenting issues have been a small part of our work together. That said, I have supported her in seeking assessment and treatment for her younger son, this 9 year old, who has not successfully potty trained. I raised a question with her whether any of the providers (at Children's Hospital in Boston) were advocating a SPACE approach to helping him transition from a pull up to the toilet. I then became curious it any providers on this forum had any experience in this domain. All thoughts appreciated.
Pathological Demand Avoidance ( PDA) has this component ( refusing to use the toilet). Might be worth looking in to. The strategies for helping a child with PDA ( a diagnosis more familiar in Europe and not yet in our DSM) are counter intuitive.

I'm working with a client who has a 38 y.o brother with ASD who still lives at home. Client's mom is aging and wants help to transition him out of the house and living independently. Ideally provider accepts Medicare but they're open to self-pay. Must be licensed in Mass. Thank you!
Hi Joanna, we offer SPACE FTL treatment at The Concord Center. We would need to assess goodness of fit but the parents are certainly welcomed to submit an inquiry to speak with one of our clinicians for a free initial consultation.

Would any parents who have experienced SPACE be willing to share what their experience was like? I know every therapist is differnt, but would be so helpful to hear from anyone.

Wondering if people have encountered this in FTL adults and if it has modified how you've worked with the parents around this. Also, if anyone has recommendations on reading material or the research on demand avoidance, it would be great to hear!
Hi Alexis. I am available for virtual or in person support (in NOVA). My website is www.heydoctoramy.com, 703-919-2021.
